Drunk Boyfriend Arrested after Chugging Brandy: Crime Snapshot Jan. 30-Feb. 2


THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2
Drunk Boyfriend Arrested after Chugging Brandy
At about 4 a.m., a woman called police about her drunk and disorderly boyfriend who was outside her door in the 1200 block of Berkeley Way. The man told police he recently had “chugged a half pint of brandy.” Police took him to a nearby hotel but due to his obvious intoxicated state, the hotel clerk refused him a room, police said.  Because he was drunk and could not care for himself, police arrested him and took him to jail. 
Parolee Towing Bike Trailer with Burglary Tools Arrested
At about 8:20 a.m., a police officer noticed a man on a bicycle riding slowly west in the 1100 block of Carleton Street, towing a child trailer and peering up driveways. The suspect matched the description of a man who had been breaking into garages. The officer tried to stop him but he fled on the bike on San Pablo Avenue, ditched the bike and began running. The officer caught him in the 1100 block of Blake Street. Police found burglary tools in the bike trailer and discovered he was a wanted parolee.
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1
Three Masked Men Rob Liquor Store at Gunpoint
At about 10:10 p.m., three men wearing black ski masks and all dark clothing entered a liquor store in the 3000 block of Sacramento Street and demanded cash. One man demanded cash from the register. A second man demanded to know where there was more money and the third man hit the clerk in the head with a gun, causing a bleeding gash. All three suspects ran away with a small amount of cash. Paramedics treated the clerk but didn’t take him to the hospital.
Identity Theft
At about 9:30 a.m., a 75 year old Berkeley woman called from the 2000 block of Delaware Street and said she received a past due bill from Banana Republic for $300. The account was in her name, but she had never opened one. 
TUESDAY, JAN. 31
Prowler on Probation Arrested with Burglary Tools
At about 8:55 a.m., a resident called police about a prowler in the 1700 block of Lincoln Street. Police detained a 47 year old Oakland man and discovered he was on probation, was in posession of a crack pipe and burglary tools. He was arrested for posession of drug paraphernalia and a proation violation.
Drunk Man on Probation Throws Punches, Arrested
 At about 1:30 p.m. police spotted a 47-year-old man they knew was on probation who was stumbling down the street near the corner of San Pablo Avenue and Haskell Street. Police stopped him and he immediately began throwning punches. He was arrested for being drunk in public and probation violation.
Man with Meth Pipe Arrested for Probation Violation
At about 11:25 p.m., an  officer saw a cyclist riding on the sidewalk on San Pablo Avenue. When the officer tried to detain the man, he dashed off. When he was caught at Eighth Street and Bancroft Way, the officer found a methamphetamine pipe on the man. The man was arrested for possession of Drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and a probation violation.
MONDAY, JAN. 30
Blake Street Home Burglary
Between 7 and 8 p.m. three male teens cut and removed a screen and entered a home in the 1500 block of Blake Street. The group stole a laptop and an X-Box before they were scared away by a neighbor. A witness said he saw them all run east on Parker Street. They were all wearing dark clothes.
