Guns, Drugs and Robberies, Berkeley Crime Report Jan. 22-25


WEDNESDAY JAN. 25
Fraud on Elderly 
An 81 year old Berkeley woman told police she received a letter from Sprint stating she owed nearly $600 for an account that had been opened in her name. She immediately closed it and called police. 
Drugs, Guns, Cash, Cars Seized and 2 Arrested
Berkeley police arrested a 32-year-old man and a 24-year-woman after serving a search warrant and finding two .38 caliber revolvers, a Tech 9 assault weapon, a Glock 45 with a high capacity magazine, a rifle, eight bottles of codeine cough syrup, 50 ecstasy pills, cocaine and over 20 pounds of marijuana. 
Detectives also seized over $6,000 in cash, a Cadillac, and a 2006 Maserati. Police did not provide an addresss of the home.
Both could be charged with nine felonies each.
Drunk in Public Arrest
At about 1 a.m. police found a 29-year-old drunk man in the front yard of a home in the 2200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Police said the man was staggering and could barely stand. The man told the officer that he had been drinking and was walking home, and that he thought he was in Oakland.  
TUESDAY, JAN. 24
Cyclist Arrested for Heroin Posessoin
At about 8:30 p.m., officers detained a 43-year-old man on a bicyce at 63rd and California streets who was riding at night without a headlight. A records check revealed he was on probation for DUI and had a $20,000 warrant for his arrest. During a search an officer found three balloons full of heroin and some hypodermic needles.  
Gun, Knife Used to Rob Pizza Delivery Guy
At about 9 p.m. in the 2700 block of Sojrouner Truth Court, a 19 year-old Pizza delivery person was returning to his car when three male suspects got out of a silver Lexus. One suspect grabbed his arms, one suspect pointed a gun at the delivery person and the third suspect pointed a knife at him. 
The suspects are described as a three black male adults, all about 19-years-old and 5 feet eleven inches tall. 
MONDAY JANUARY 23
Bicycle Theft
Someone cut the padlocks on garage doors in the 600 block of Neilson and stole two bicycles.
SUNDAY JAN. 22
Drunk in Public and on Probation
At about 9:20 p.m., an employee of a restaurant in the 900 block of Carleton Street called about a woman outside the business who was causing a disturbance. When police arrived they said she was staggering and had bloodshot and watery eyes.  The 36 year old Berkeley woman was on probation, so she was arrested for being drunk in public and a probaton violation.
