Developer Donates Land for Urban Farm in West Berkeley

Ari Reisman, left, and David Griswold put together a shed on a lot in west Berkeley at San Pablo Avenue and Parker Streets on March 1 where a  non profit called Urban Adamah is building a one-acre urban farm. The land was donated by Wareham Development for two years, said Adam Berman who runs the non-profit that he calls the Jewish Sustainability Corps. The farm will grow fruit and vegetables and have chickens, goats, ducks and bees. All the food produced at the farm will be donated to the Alameda County Food Bank. (Photo by Doug Oakley)
